Mini snap-in rocker switch offers illumination

Scottsdale, Ariz. — NKK Switches claims to offer the industry's first miniature snap-in illuminated rocker switches. These devices offer a wide range of illumination choices including incandescent bulbs, neon lamps and LEDs. These switches may be used in transportation, communication, security, industrial/commercial, instrumentation, and medical applications.

Available in single pole/double throw (SPDT) and double pole/double throw (DPDT), with multiple momentary and maintained circuits, the MLW family of illuminated rocker switches is rated at 5 A at125 Vac, 3A at 250 Vac, and 3 A at 30 Vdc. All double pole models are UL Recognized and CSA Certified at ratings of 5A at 125 Vac and 3 A at 250 Vac.

Illumination choices include various voltages of incandescent bulbs, neon lamps and double-element LEDs. Featuring front panel relamping, the rocker switches come with standard isolated lamp circuits. Lamp terminals are extended for ease of wiring, and matching indicators are available.

These rocker switches feature a stainless steel housing to prevent corrosion, unique stainless steel retaining clips to ensure secure mounting over a wide range of panel thicknesses even when exposed to vibration, and an interlocking actuator that prevents switch failure due to jamming or window locking. In addition, the new devices offer built-in protective covers that shield the contacts from dust, and epoxy-sealed solder lug terminals that lock out flux, dust and other contaminants.

Actuators are available in rocker or paddle models and in a wide array of colors and styles. Two different bezel options, also available in a wide range of colors, can be specified depending on the desired panel cutout. Legend options are available.

The new rocker switches are priced at $6.70 each in quantities of 500. Delivery is from stock to eight weeks.
